Jack V. Kitzmiller Sr. 88, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday July 8, 2006 at his home. He was born February 6, 1918 in Fort Wayne. He was a WW II Army Veteran and was a Police Officer for 25 years for the Fort Wayne Police Department retiring in 1975. "He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was an excellent carpenter and had a love for animals". He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a past Vice President of F.O.P lodge 14. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kitzmiller of Fort Wayne; son, Jack V. (Eileen) Kitzmiller Jr. of Fort Wayne; daughters, Sue (Claren) Beck and Lynn (John Coyer) Swygart both of Fort Wayne; step-sons, Michael (Trish) Moore of Dunkirk, Glenn (Becky) Moore of Fort Wayne and Clint (Renee) Moore of Roanoke; step-daughter, Laura (John) Thomas of Markle; sister, Gwendolyn Smith of Grabill; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Bonnie; brother, Harold Kitzmiller; sister, Carol Stine and two grandsons, Robert Swygart and Matthew Walters. Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Rev. David Easterday officiating. Calling will be held Tuesday 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
