Jack Lewis Mossburg, 78, passed away Friday August 4, 2017 at home with his family at his side. Jack has completed his sacred vows by joining his loving wife, Mary Ellen (Shupe) Mossburg of 47 years, to dance on the golden streets of Heaven. Jack was a United States Army veteran. He retired from the Fort Wayne Police Dept. after 35 ½ years of service. He is a compassionate, trustworthy, Father, Grandfather, and Brother. He is a respected, honest and loyal man in his community and his family. He dedicated his entire life to serving others.
Jack is survived by his children, Jennifer Mossburg, Jackie (J.R.) Hicks, Ron Mossburg, Tami Toney Eliason, Shelly (Mike) Bounds, 8 grandchildren, Melissa, Jeni, Ron (Sasha), Joey (Brittany), Brittany, Nicole, Tyler and Cody and 17 Great-grandchildren, Trinity, Kylee, Karlie, Felisha, Beonka, Lohn, Reilah, Grant, Cecilly, Cohen, Kaidence, Kaysin, Roman, Raiden, Rebecka, Alexander, Lydia, Sister Becky Marvin, Brother Robert (Diana) Mossburg and his loveable furry children, Toby Lewis and Casey Lewis. He was preceded in death by one sister, Judith Mercer and father Robert K. Mossburg and mother Marjorie Mossburg.
Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday August 8, 2017 with viewing from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at St. Joe Community Church 2900 N. Anthony with Pastor Greg Byman officiating. There will be viewing Monday August 7, 2017 at the church from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Jack will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Loving Shepherd Ministries in memory of Jack L. Mossburg.
