Obituary

Jacqualyn Sue Budrow, 70, of Columbia City, passed away suddenly on May 2, 2024 from cardiac artery disease and celebrated her eternal homecoming with Jesus. She was born on January 26, 1954, at Luckey Hospital in Wolf Lake, IN, a daughter of the late Earl and Alma Barnes.

During her working years, she was a retail manager at various Fort Wayne Hallmark stores as well as an entrepreneur of various retail stores. Jacki and Bill built a beautiful life and family for themselves, they enjoyed their time spent on Big Lake, with friends and most importantly with family. She was so proud of her
kids and grandchildren. They were her entire world. Jacki welcomed many children into her home through foster care over the years. She loved being outside, gardening, flowers and
watching the birds. Jacki was involved heavily in the community. Her retirement days were spent at bunco, home ec club, book club, game nights with friends, walking groups, cooking classes,
volunteering in the community, and church board meetings. Jacki
was a member of Aldersgate UM Church in Fort Wayne, IN. She and Bill also enjoyed traveling. Those who knew her, knew love.


She lit up every room with her contagious smile and joy.

Jacki leaves behind her husband of 45 years, William (Bill) Budrow; children; Brad (Lauren) Budrow of Detroit, MI, Shandra (Jeff) Hathaway of Fort Wayne, Josh Ward of Fort Wayne, and
Ryan Budrow of Payne, OH. grandchildren; Braydon, Bryce and
Rylan Hathaway and brother, Walt (Elvia) Barnes of Columbia City.

She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Alma Barnes.

The world became brighter the day that Jacki was born. She had a kind and generous heart that touched so many and will be sorely missed. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday,May 10. 2024 at Aldersgate UMC, 2417 Getz Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with calling one hour prior.

Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd.,  Fort Wayne, IN 46804.

Burial will take place in Thorn Cemetery, Noble County, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate UMC or Matthew 25.
