November 4, 1929 – June 19, 2020
James Burnell Bader, 90, passed peacefully, Friday, June 19, 2020. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a son to the late John M. Bader and LaFern (Pearson) Bader. James served his country in the Army and was a member of American Legion Post 82 and AmVets Post 33. He retired from Falstaff after many years of service. James was a member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God.
James was a devoted husband, compassionate and loving father, sweet and kind grandpa, he will be greatly missed!
James is survived by second wife of 23 years, Norma Mae (Young) Dullaghan; his children, Donald Bader, John (Diane) Bader, Debra Striker and Sandra (Mike) Sutton; step children, Ronald Dullaghan, Kevin (Kathy) Dullaghan and Kate Barton; brother, Francis Bader; sisters, Nancy Allen and Marcia Johnson; 8 grandchildren,Chris (Jennifer) Sutton, David (Cara) Sutton, Anthony Sutton, Rose Bader, John R. (Bethanie) Bader, Richard (Molly) Striker, Daniel (Lisa) Striker and Steven Striker; and 14 great grandchildren, Alex, Samantha, Belle, Carter, Arianna, Colin, Sophia, Oliver, Mara, Jacob, Lincoln, Ashley, Zeanna and Ethan.
James was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary Juanita (Polley) Bader, in 1990.
Funeral Services is 1 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2020 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry Blanchard. He will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the church.
