Obituary

JAMES W. DUNKIN, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021. Born Oct. 7, 1948, in Bryan, Ohio, but spent most of his life in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Wesley and Evelyn Dunkin. Jim graduated from South Side High School, studied at Purdue University, and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was self-employed as a caterer and ran several food establishments in the Fort Wayne area, retiring in 2005. He was an avid model car kit builder, buyer, seller and collector.

Jim is survived by a sister, Lori (Allen) Hooley of Fort Wayne; brothers, Bill Dunkin of Fort Wayne and Duane (Janet) Dunkin of Harlan, Ind.; five nieces and nephews; and six great nieces and great nephews.

Jim was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Kathy Dunkin.

Military Honors will be held at 10:00am November 16th at Covington Memorial Gardens.
