James Edward Houser, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Hospice Home Center, Fort Wayne. Jim was the oldest son of the late Gene and Helen Houser. He graduated from Elmhurst High School, and entered the medical field starting at St. Joseph Hospital, and on to nursing home facilities retiring from Saint Anne's Nursing Home in 2005. He was a fond collector of Fenton glassware, and loved caring for stray cats, especially Kitty.

Houser family survivors include two brothers: Jerry (Connie), and Terry (Elsie); three nephews: Don (Taeko), Geno (Kelli), and Doug (Ronda); and 5 great-nieces, and 5 great-nephews.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. On Monday July 10, 2017 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with calling 30 minutes prior to service. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, 3020 Hillegas Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46808
