James L. O''Connell, 78, passed Saturday, September 20, 2014 at home. He was born in Whitley County, son of the late Loren and Irene (Hyndman) O''Connell. Jim graduated from Huntertown High School. He was life long farmer and retired from International Harvester and North West Allen County Schools. Jim always loved his racing. He used to shoot Trap all over the State of Indiana. In his later years his hobby was restoring old International Trucks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Nancy O''Connell; son, Jeri M. (Angie) O''Connell; daughter, Tamara Klepper; stepdaughters, Lisa (Tim) Guhl and Shawn Barnes; sisters, Verdonna "Tootie" Konger and Patsy O''Connell; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Huntertown Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Huntertown Volunteer Fire Department and Visiting Nurse.
