James E. Knight, 83, died at Parkview Hospital, Thursday, May 13, 2010. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the North Church of Christ. He was a traveling hardware sales rep. for many years retiring in 2000. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Connie; daughters, Cindy (Don) Showalter and Stephanie (Tom) Lamp both of Fort Wayne; Melinda (Mike) Hampton of Fort Myers, Florida, Sandy Potter of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; sons, Rick and Steve of Fort Wayne; brother, Donald Knight of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Alicia, Ashlee, Heather, Samantha, Nicole, Natalie, Eli, Austin, Nicholas, Kylie, Bobby, Paige and Cory; great grandchildren, Alex, Evan and Libbie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson and Gertrude Knight; and a brother, John Knight. Service is 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 17, 2010 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hour prior to service. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials to Parkview Home Health & Hospice, Cross Rhodes Church or North Church of Christ.
