James E. Passwater, 83, passed away, Wednesday, December 30, 2020.  Born in Huntington, IN,   He was a son to George and Edith Passwater.  He married Callie Wheeler Passwater on October 28, 1977. She survives. James served eight and half years in the National Guard. He retired from General Electric in 1997 after working 33 years.  He served as a union steward and union president.  He enjoyed airplanes, flying, farming, fishing and working with his hands. Most of all he loved his family.

He  is survived by his wife, Callie (Wheeler) Passwater, daughter, Diane Amari, Greenwood, IN, Sons, Daniel Passwater,  Brian (Renee)  Passwater, Fort Wayne, IN, Matthew (Jeannie) Passwater,  Grabill, IN. James Passwater II, Austin, TX, and Anthony (Deborah) Passwater, Cannon Lake, TX Stepsons Ellis (Carol) Wheeler, Bobby Wheeler, Cleveland, TN, and James (Diana) Wheeler,  Ft. Wayne, IN, stepdaughter, Vicki (James) Racine, Ft. Wayne, IN, brothers, Ernest Passwater, Wabash, IN, and Donald (Judith) Passwater, Shelbyville, IN four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, thirteen step grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Passwater, sisters Lurabell Rowell, Mary Ellen Bryant, sister-in-laws, Hilda and Doris Passwater; mother in law, Dora Floyd.

Per the Governor's Covid-19 guidelines, there will be a private family service on Thursday,  January 7, 2020  at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, he will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.
