James R. "Rick" Knight, 65, of Fort Wayne passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.  Rick was born February 10, 1955 in Fort Wayne, a son of James E. and Carmen (Fairfield) Knight.  He was a truck driver for USA Trucking and a bartender that had a strong following and many friends.  Additionally, Rick was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and an IU Basketball fan.  Surviving is his mother, Carmen Knight, daughters Samantha Knight and Heather (Greg) Bowlin; granddaughters Hadlee Chapman and Gabrielle Bowlin: brother Steven Knight: sisters Cynthia Showalter, Melinda Hampton and Stephanie Knight, his K9 son Spookie, along with many nieces and nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his father James and sister Sandra Knight.  Funeral service is 3:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road with visitation 2 hours prior.  Due to COVID restrictions, this will be a private service for family and invited guests only . Because Rick had a huge heart for all animals, memorial donations can be made to Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control, 3020 Hillegas Road Fort Wayne, IN 46808.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the funeral home to the attention of the family.
