James H. Smith, 84, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 18, 2010 he was surrounded by his family. The Army Veteran was born July 21, 1926, son of the late Benjamin and Rosie Smith of Middlesboro, Kentucky. He was the night manager for Millers Standard Service for 26 years retiring in 1985. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Wilma Smith; son, Tom (Debby) Smith; daughters, Jean Bireley both of Fort Wayne; and Terri (Michael) Wenzel of Angola; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a son in law, Steve Bireley in 2002. Service is 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior to service time. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials are to Heartland Hospice.
