James Dewey Speakman, 75, passed away on September 8, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born September 25, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of the late David and Henrietta "Carr" Speakman.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had worked for United Airlines as a jet mechanic for 25+ years. He loved T.V., Holidays, gardening & football. He was a Steelers fan and a stranger to no one.

He is survived by his son: Todd (Janet) Neidlinger of St.Louis, MO, daughter: Kim (Ronald) Carpenter of Ossian, IN., four grandchildren: two sisters: Betsy (Doug) Halliday of Pittsburgh, PA., and Bobbie (Sam) Laciak of Greenburg, PA. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Phylis Irene "Griffith" Speakman.

Calling will be of Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home at 8408 Covington Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46804. Service will be at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Hippensteel officiating. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Park.
