James "Jimmy" Heston Thomas, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born in Derby, Indiana to the late Hargis Heston and Ruth K. (Martin) Thomas. Jimmy served honorably in the United States Army. He married Betty J. Brown in 1995 and she survives. Jimmy worked at Foamex for nearly 40 years until his retirement. He was an avid Colts fan and enjoyed cars and playing golf. Jimmy attended Fellowship Missionary Church. Surviving are his children, Bryce Thomas and Ashleigh Thomas; grandchildren, Heston, Harper, and Emery; sister, Judith Thompson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William, Hargis Earl, Larry, Paul and Jerry; and sisters, Kathleen, Elleen, June and Lyndal Lee. Funeral Service 10:00am, Monday, October 31, 2022 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with calling one hour prior to the service. Visitation also from 2:00pm to 5pm, Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens with military honors.
