Jerry R. Birch, 69, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday Aug. 26, 2007 at Hospice Home. He was born May 5, 1938 in Kimmell, and was a U. S. Army veteran. He was a firefighter for the Southwest Fire District and had also worked for the Deer Run Academy. He was a member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God and American Legion Post 499. Survived by sons, Todd (Dee Ann) Birch of Pulaski, Tenn, and Andy (Milyssa) Birch of New Haven; daughters, Gina (Raymond) Jones, and Sonia (Steve) Knepper both of New Haven; two brothers, and one sister; ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah in 1981. Service Thursday 11 a.m. at Anthony Wayne First Church of God 6012 South Bend Drive. Calling 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
