Jerry L. Carsten, 77, died at his home Monday, Oct. 19, 2009. Jerry was a life long resident of Ft. Wayne. He retired in 1993 as a crane operator with the Don R. Fruchey Co. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, golfing and volunteering at The Chapel. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Marilyn (Martin) Carsten, 4 children, Cindy Meyers, Fort Wayne, Gary (Sally) Carsten, Tarpon Springs, FL, Molly (David) Meade, North Liberty, IN, Mary (Don) Widmann, Highland Village, TX, 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie, Amy, Jeri, Leanne, Brad, Sarah, Kiley, Michelle, Matthew, and 18 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Bria, Megan, Shaylee, Paiton, Hudson, Kellen, Macie, Graham, Andrew, Chloe, Jason, Olivia, Caitlin, Ethan, Mason, Alex, Rebecca, brothers, Larry Carsten, Greenback, TN and David Carsten, Counce, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Evelyn (Lee) Carsten. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Rd.
