Jerry Willett, 78, of Fort Wayne passed away June 14, 2026, at Coventry Meadows. Jerry was born on September 29, 1947, in Fort Wayne to John and Doris Willett. He was preceded in death by his 20-year life partner, Sara Scheele.

Jerry honorably served in The United States Army from 1966- 1972, serving with the 93rd Engineering Battalion during Vietnam. Jerry also served with the Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department for 16 years.

He is survived by his children, Andrew (Brianne) Willett and Matthew (Jennifer) Willett; grandchildren (Dillon, Emilie, Olivia, Jacob, Makayla, Lucas); siblings Janet Willett and Phil Willett.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army immediately following the service.

Memorial donations in Jerry’s honor may be directed to the American Legion Post 180 or the Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department.
