Obituary

Jill Goshert Olbin, 62, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus while surrounded by family on Friday, November 5, 2021.  She was born June 28, 1959 in South Bend, Indiana and adopted by Robert "Bob" Goshert and Carol Goshert (Wilcox).  Jill always felt utmost gratitude and love for her biological family for placing her with amazing adoptive parents that loved her unconditionally.

Jill grew up in South Bend, Indiana and was very active in many social groups as well as swimming. She graduated from Purdue University in 1981 with a degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management. Shortly after graduating from college, Jill moved to Tuscon, Arizona for a management position at Furr's Cafeteria. It was in Tucson where she met her future husband, and they were married June 11, 1983 in South Bend, IN.  Jill was always a hard worker who loved helping others. Most recently she spent several years working for Aetna/CVS as a call service representative. She loved talking with people, and helping them solve troubles that they called in about. She was an avid sports fan and loved celebrating and cheering on the Cubs. Being a mother was truly the highlight of Jill's life, she was always the loudest cheerleader in the stands, never missing a sporting or musical event. She loved Jesus and was always helping others with service projects using her creative talents. In her later years, she used her creative crochet skills to sell a variety of different crochet characters at numerous craft shows. She will always be remembered with a smile on her face and crochet needles in her hands.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carol Goshert, her father and mother in law, George and Lorrayne Olbin, and her nephew, Erik Olbin.

She is survived by her loving husband, George "Scott" Olbin, children Ryan (Jessica) Olbin, Robert "Rob" Olbin, Shannon (Tim) Decker, grandchildren Harper and Miles Olbin, brother Jeff (Denise) Goshert, and numerous in laws, nieces and nephews.

In 2001, Jill reached out to her biological family to gain medical information. She learned about her 4 other biological siblings and numerous extended family members. Jill loved connecting with her biological family and forming relationships which created her own personal adoptive story. She loved sharing this story of joy, hope, and love with others.

When Jill was diagnosed with brain cancer in June of 2021, she had a fierce strength to fight the cancer. Throughout every step of treatment she never complained of pain. Even in her final days, she expressed love and care for all her friends and family and was excited to meet Jesus.
