Joan Lee Gebele, 80, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Bluffton, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Esta Gebele. She was a graduate of Bluffton High School, Class of '54, and a member of the Peppettes Club. She was a civilian employee of 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana Air National Guard from 1971-2007. Known among friends and coworkers for her witty remarks and dry sense of humor, she never let a birthday pass without recognition.

She is survived by a brother, Gene Gebele of Rocky Face, Ga.; and a nephew, Nathan Gebele, and his wife Emily of Chattanooga, Tenn.
