Joann Martin, 88, went home to be with her Lord on January 24, 2021. She was born on December 4, 1932 in Goshen, Indiana to Gertrude and Russell Saal.  In 1951, Ft. Wayne became her home when she began her healthcare career at Lutheran Hospital.

She is survived by two sisters—Stella M. (Saal) Culp and Ruth E. (Saal) and Don Hostetler.  In addition, she is survived by her six children—Marilyn Martin, Steven (Diane) Martin, Nancy (Mike) Nomina, Nanette (David) Seely, Phyllis (Tony) Perkins, and Lois (Doran) Wilson. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Martin, in 1973.

Pastor Pat Ryan will officiate a private family service. She will be buried next to her husband at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be sent to Northside Missionary Church at 736 Lillian Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN. 46808.
