Joe John
Kane
July 20, 1945 – November 7, 2019
Joseph 'Joe' John Kane, 74, passed in his home on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Joe was born on July 20 th 1945, in Buffalo, NY. Joe was a boiler technician, serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Joe also worked as a boiler technician for Old Crown Brewery and Slater Steel Inc.
Joe was known as a fun-loving, party animal by all who loved him. Joe considered himself to be a bit of a homebody. Joe often frequented family barbeques and enjoyed watching television in his leisure. He enjoyed watching anything on the History Channel, but his favorite show of all time was NCIS! Joe had a passion for music; Rock'n Roll Oldies to Motown classics, just to name a few. Joe's favorite song was "Take it to the limit" by the Eagles.
During Joe's four years in the United States Military (1962 - 1966), Joe lived aboard the USS Rogers. In 1964, The USS Rogers was part of the Pacific fleet. One year later, the USS Rogers began operations as a destroyer combat ship, off Vietnam, in the Tonkin Gulf; serving on search and rescue and shore bombardment missions. As a continued sign of his support for the United States Military, Joe donated funds to help support wounded and disabled veterans.
Joe is survived by sisters, Alda Pierce and Karen Gordon; brothers, Tom Kane, Phillip Cupa, and Paul Cupa; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his loving parents, Virginia (Rybicki) and Ralph Kane.
