John C. Cureton, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2014. He was born June 24, 1929 in Newport, TN to the late Hiram and Edna (Gregg) Cureton. John was a member of Brookside Community Church and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Zollner Corporation after 32 years of service as a machinist. After retiring he worked for the Kroger / Scotts Corporation for 10 years.
Surviving are his wife, Dora Rose Cureton, children, Debra (Lyle) Howard, sons, Timothy (Shawna) Cureton, Joel (Terri) Cureton, brother, Charles (Joan) Cureton, grandchildren, Abigail Howard, Elizabeth Howard and Seth Cureton. He was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Clayton and Carolyn Cureton.
Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 28, 2014 at Brookside Community Church 6102 Evard Road 46825 with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling at Brookside Community Church Wednesday, August 27 from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the Wounded Warriors Project, Latin American Mission Board or Fellowship of Evangelical Churches.
