John "Jack" L. Fanning, Jr., 71 died, Sunday, May 13, 2018.  Born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, a son to John, Sr. Fanning and Josephine V. (Strother) Fanning. After graduating from  South Side High School, he went to IPFW and received his Bachelors in MET. Jack had worked earlier in life at International Harvester and Anthony Wayne Services.  Jack was the owner of Intratek Engineering.

Jack is survived by sons, Eric (Jessica) Fanning and Jason Fanning (aka, Braeden Quinn) brother, Bill Fanning; and one grandson, Zachery.

Jack was preceded in death by a sister, Carole Hensel.

Service for Jack are 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior.  Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Lane Burgland.  Calling is also 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the funeral home.  He will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.  Preferred memorials are to Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, 555 East Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, Ind. 46802.
