John William Martin, 78, passed peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Cameron Hospital in Angola, Indiana. Born in New Castle, Indiana; John was a son to the late Albert and Mary (Ponsler) Martin. John was the owner of John's Barber Shop and retired from Inland Distribution.

John was a member of the Leo Freemasons as well as a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren; Ashley, Cecelia, and Griffin.

John enjoyed his grandchildren so much that he kept up with his granddaughter Ashley's blogs and postings for her design company, Wild Flower Designs, out of Austin, TX. John also attended tennis matches for his two other grandchildren, Cecelia and Griffin, even if that meant that he had to watch from his vehicle.

John is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Julie Anne (Chalfant) Martin; sons, Dr. Scott (Melissa) Martin and Dr. Brad (Brigid) Martin; his sister Alberta Reiff; and three grandchildren (Ashley, Cecelia, and Griffin).

Funeral Service is 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior.  Calling is also 4-8 pm., Monday, October 21, 2019 at the funeral home.  He will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.

Officiating will be Pastor Christina.

Following the memorial service, John will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.
