John McBride, 91, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at St. Joe Hospital. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he was the son to the late David and Saragh McBride. He came to the US around 1953. He was a member of the Avalon Missionary Church. He retired from Crown Construction as a brick mason after 45 years of service.
He is survived by children, Thomas (Judy) of Roanoke, Sam (Sue) of Fort Wayne, Albert (Susan) of Leo, Michael (Barbara) of Roanoke, Patricia McBride of Fort Wayne and David of Nokamis, Fla.; brother, Douglas (Etta) of Dandridge, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren, with two on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, Margaret McBride, in 1999; son, John; great grandson, Dillon Kelley; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also 3 to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials are to the Avalon Missionary Church.
