John H. Raabe, 81, died Saturday, May 1, 2010. Born in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late John and Marie Raabe. The Navy veteran retired as a mechanic with over 30 years from Consolidated Edison Co. of New York, in 1987. He was an avid gardener that probably stemmed from living in Ridgefield, Connecticut for over 40 years. Those were his fondest memories being there with his family. He is survived by his brother in law, Walter Hauser of Auburn; nephew, Raymond Hauser of Fort Wayne; niece, Carol Wire of Northport, Michigan; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor M. Hauser, in 1999; nephew, Warren Hauser, in 1984. Private services will be held at a later date.
