John D. Willett Jr., 91, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014. He was born January 1, 1923 in Hicksville, OH to the late John Sr. and Bessie Willett. John worked at General Electric for 41 plus years. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of American Legion Post 160 Roanoke and GE Quarter Century Club. John retired from the Roanoke Volunteer Fire Dept after 20 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years Doris Willett, children, Janet Willett, Jerry (Sara) Willett, Deborah Willett, John Phillip Willett, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his 2 sisters Marjorie Hobbs and Betty Burgner.

Funeral service is 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to Honor Flight or Roanoke Volunteer Fire Dept.
