Joseph L. Lombard, 83, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday October 25, 2006 at Parkview Hospital. He was born June 29, 1923 in Fort Wayne, raised in Beaver Dam, Ohio and was an Army 865th Engineer Aviation Battalion WW II veteran. He was a retired Train Conductor from the Pennsylvania Railroad and his memberships included Trinity Presbyterian Church of Fort Wayne, American Legion 0098 and the V.F.W. Post both of Columbia City. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lombard; sons; Max (Jean) Lombard of Euless, TX and Joe (Babs) Lombard of Canyon, TX; a daughter, Laura (Kevin) Himmelhaver of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Jake, Joe, Lindy, Tate, Sam and Annie; and one great grandchild, Alexis. Service is 1 P.M. Friday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd., with calling one hour prior to service. Calling is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to American Lung Association or Trinity Presbyterian Church.
