Josephine C. Trotta, age 73, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19th, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born October 21st, 1950, in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Trotta and Mary (Vigilante) Trotta.
Josephine was an independent, fun-spirited, and generous soul. Josephine had a strong faith and loved sharing it with others. She enjoyed making "moments and memories" with her family and friends. In any room she entered, Josephine always made a friend and touched many lives. Josephine was a mother-like figure to many. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and cherished friend. Josephine will forever be missed by her family and friends. Josephine is survived by her brother, Ciro (Margaret) Trotta, her niece, Michelle (Gregory) Smith and great-niece, Cora Smith; nieces, Christine Trotta, Ann Marie (Cuccia) Coronato, Gina Coronato, Gabriella Coronato, Angelina Cuccia and Guiliana Cuccia; and nephews, Vincent Coronato, Michael Pinto, John J. II (Melissa Bancroft) Cuccia, John J. Cuccia III, and Angelo Cuccia. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, Ralph and Mary (Vigilante) Trotta; best friend and beloved sister, Josephine (Camusci) Cuccia; friend, John J. Cuccia; and nephew, Michael Coronato. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46804. Calling will be held one hour prior. Entombment will take place in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Masses at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or donor's choice.
