Joy Jean Wilkerson, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Joy was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen (Lindeman) Strong. She married Donald Wilkerson on June 27, 1952, and he survives. Joy worked for United Technology in the accounts receivable department. She was a member of The Chapel and enjoyed reading and collecting cookbooks. Surviving are her children, Kathy Meeks and Jill (John) Morgan; grandchildren, Jordan (Logan Tingley) Meeks, Kristan Meeks, Ashley (Nathan) Haines, Nichole (Tyler) Voges; and great-granddaughter, Hallie Haines. Joy was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Daniel Meeks. Funeral service 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
