Nita passed away February 20, 2025 and is now kneeling in the presence of her LORD. Born to George S. and Leola (May) Deater in Muskegon, MI on June 29, 1933. She moved to Fort Wayne with her husband in 1998 to be with family.

Robert A. Durga Sr. and Juanita were joined in marriage, June 25, 1955 at Trinity Church in Muskegon. They celebrated 56 years together until Bobs death in 2011. She was a charter member of Trinity Reformed Church and there, professed her faith as a teenager. An active and proud associate member of the Korean War Veterans Association until, due to her ill health, could no longer participate. She retired from GTE North, Muskegon, after 25 years in 1990. She started as a toll operator and held many positions during her service. She made many friends there as a "home away from home."

After God, Nita treasured every member of her family.

She is survived by her two children, Robert Jr. (Crystal) Durga and Michelle (Daniel) Kieft, both of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Cassie (Andrew) Conforti of Westfield, IN, Aubree (Bryce) Shively of Huntertown, IN, Maddison Edwards of Fort Wayne, IN, Alexa (Austin) Schweitzer of Huntertown, IN, Chloe (Noah) Cralle of FIshers, IN, Jasper Therkelsen of Fort Wayne, IN, Robert Durga III, Veronica Jackson of Ft. Wayne, IN; great-grandchildren, Enzo, Evie, Chase, Graham, Briggs, Emersyn, Oliver, Beck, Crew, Cal, Wells, Jekyree, Isaac and Jaevy.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46804 with visitation from 11 am to 1 pm.

Burial will take place in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN.
