Karl L. Fisher, 93, Roanoke, passed away peacefully at Renaissance Village on Thursday, March 7. He was born
January 2, 1920 in Cuba, New York to the late Elmer H. and Jennie M. (Clayton) Fisher. He attended Coesse and
Arcola Schools and joined the CCC's and served in WW II in the Army Air Corp in Puerto Rico. Mr. Fisher was
united in marriage to Agnes M. Koomler in September 1942 and she preceded him in death in 1989. Karl retired
from Fruehauf Trailer Corp. In 1982 after 40 and a half years where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club
and the Athletic Association and the American Legion Post #160 Roanoke. He loved the outdoors-- fishing,
hunting, feeding wildlife, gardening and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his daughter, Susan Langston
(John Core) of Dunlap TN; his son John (Deb) Fisher of Huntington; granddaughters Laurie (Curt) Cashman of Harlan, Leslie (Riyadh) Alawadi, Lou Ann (Mike) Haddad, Amanda (Steve) Weber all of Fort Wayne; grandson Adam (Natalie) Fisher of Huntington; great-grandchildren Cassandra and PFC Cody Cashman, Elizabeth, Ibrahim and Yousef Alawadi, Kathryn, Rebecca, Renae and Andrew Haddad, Piper Weber, Norah and Nollan Fisher; step great-grandchildren Ashley and Riley Weber; sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. His parents and sisters, Era Bloom, Mary Hyre and Edna Tulley-Williams preceded him in death.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be Monday, March 11 from 1 to 3 pm.
