Kay Flaugher, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026. She was born December 6, 1941, in Tappen, North Dakota, to Edgar and Alice Magee.

Kay married Gerald Flaugher, and they shared 49 years together before his passing in October of 2008. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cake decorating, spending time at the beach, watching birds, playing piano, line dancing, and bowling. Most of all, Kay was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her three children, Shaun (Wendy) Flaugher, Karene (Scott) Smith, and Kay Lynn Herrington; granddaughters, Tami Flaugher, Sherri (Bronson) Gustin, and Jessica (Blaine) Woodruff; and great-grandchildren, Shaun, Lily, Carson, Jordan, and Colin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; sister, Arlene Rath and brothers, Freddie, Dick, and Keith Magee.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.
