Kedric "Ked" Lynn Herstad, 88, passed away on August 9, 2023. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 24, 1935, a son of the late Norman Herstad and Madelon Harkenrider.

Kedric worked as a foreman at Wayne Metal Protection for 49 years before retiring. Ked built his own home where he and his wife spent a wonderful 51 years together. Ked and Sue enjoyed camping in state parks and also owned a place at JellyStone where they frequented. He enjoyed carving, horseshoes and a good game of corn hole. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed being with family.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Carolyn "Sue" Herstad; children, Kim (Terri), Kent (Mindi); 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Alida) Harkenrider, David (Mercy) Herstad; sister, Judith (Mike) Nichter; and sister-in-law, Judy Herstad.

He was preceded in death by a son Kevin; and brother Jim Herstad.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 with calling one hour prior.

Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 also at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Covington Memorial Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, IN.
