Laurel Mary Nunstedt, age 60, died Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace (Hagan) Nunstedt. She is survived by her father, Carl Nunstedt, and her sisters, Linda Nelson and Carol Backland, nephews Jeff Bacland and J.C. Toftey, her dear friend Jeannie Campbell, and special pet dog Lexor. Laurel retired from a career as an engineer with General Motors, working in Janesville, WI, Bowling Green, KY, and retiring from the Fort Wayne, IN plant. Laurel fought a long and valiant battle against the ravages of cancer and remained always grateful for the fine treatments she received from caring doctors and staff. She was much loved by many friends who treasured her sweet gentle nature and delighted in many times spent in her company. Graveside services are 11:00a.m. Thursday May 27, 2010 in Maple Hill Cemetery, in her beloved home town of Grand Marais, MN. Officiating are Pastors, Mark Ditmanson, Rev. Dr. William R. Goodman Jr. In Lieu of flowers, Laurel requested that Memorial Gifts be sent to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Rd. Fort Wayne, Indiana 46814-4202.
