Lavon F. Knight, 87, died Thursday March 17, 2016. She was born August 12, 1928 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Floyd R. and Gertrude Mutton. Lavon worked 24 years for the Ft. Wayne Community School''s first at Maplewood and then in food service. Her passion was I.U. basketball and Denver Bronco''s.

Surviving is her children, David (Diana), Dan (Sue), Dennis (Kari) Knight, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a brother in law Richard Capin. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald J. Knight in 2003 and a great-granddaughter, Laynie Tinker along with a sister Betty Capin and brother Gene Mutton.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with viewing 1 hour prior to service. There is also viewing Monday at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice. www.covingtonmemorial.com
