Lewis Clay Bolyard, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home with his family at his side. Born in Grafton, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Orian and Irene (Kitzmiller) Bolyard. The Army veteran retired from General Electric after 41 ½ years as an electrical engineer.
He is survived by daughters, Vida Bolyard of Orlando, Florida and Jan (Curt) Willen of Fort Wayne; son, Vic (Karen) Bolyard of Fort Wayne; brother, Kenneth Bolyard of Grafton, West Virginia; sisters, Alice Poling of Crossville, Tennessee and Mary Jennings of Thornton, West Virginia; ten grandchildren; and 8 great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Marilyn J. Bolyard, in April of 2010; and a sister, Barbara Bolyard
Service is 11 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2011 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Officiating will be Pastor Bill Mueller. Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials are to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
