Lois Marianne (Maassel) Wesche, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Lois was born October 8, 1928 in Sherwood, Ohio, a daughter of the late Rev. George Maassel and Clara (Schroeder) Maassel. She graduated from Ridgeville H.S. in Ohio and International Business College in Fort Wayne. She married Eldor Wesche on August 27, 1950 in Napoleon, Ohio. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. She served for a number of years as secretary at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was a member for more than six decades.
Surviving are her five children, Annette (William) Colgrove of Fort Wayne; David (Deborah) Wesche of Sparta, MI; Thomas (Mary Pat) Wesche of Wheaton, IL; John (Juanita Bryant) Wesche of Chicago, IL; and Beth (Nina Berrones) Wesche of Bryan, OH; two brothers, Delmar Maassel of Volo, IL.; and Richard (Carol) Maassel of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Juanita (Oliver) Thorpe of Bellingham, WA; Ruth (Donald) McClain of Columbus, OH; and Miriam (Leonard) Neumann of Indianapolis, IN; 12 grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldor, on March 17, 2004 and by her brothers Paul, Lester and Norman.
Funeral service is 11 AM Wednesday, Sept 11, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 S. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Rev. Steve Ensley officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, Sept 10, 2013 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to Worship for Shut-Ins and Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
