Loretta "Kay" Flotow, 82, of Fort Wayne passed away Wednesday, October 27. She was born June 18, 1939 in Milan, Indiana to the late Oren and Thelma (Courtney) Neal.

Kay married her husband, Joseph Flotow, in 1957 and they remained together until his passing in 2012. Her children describe her as feisty, strong and determined. Her determination could be witnessed when she became the caregiver of her five younger siblings after her own mother's passing and while starting her own family.  While Kay was keeping her household together, she owned her own security business and private investigating. Nothing could stop her from persevering.  She was selfless in everything she did.  Above all, she adored her family and her little dog, Rosie. Kay will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Kay will be forever remembered by her children, Beth Nelson, Gary (Karen) Flotow, and Tim (Tricia) Flotow; nine grandchildren, Erik, Chris, Stacy, Keonna, Cody, Justin, Steven, Jared and Lauren; 17 great grandchildren (and one on-the-way); one great-great grandchild; two sisters and one brother and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joe, Kay was preceded in death by seven siblings.

Family will receive friends from 3:00pm - 7:00pm Monday, November 1 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 2 at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior, also at Covington Memorial.
