Lorna J. Franke, 86, went home to be with her Lord Saturday April 1, 2017. She was born May 24, 1930 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Ernest and Emelia (Schmidt) Mertens. She graduated in 1948 from North Side High School and was a member of the National Honors Society. Lorna retired in 1957 as a private secretary at Lincoln National Life Ins. Co. She is a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church and former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Lorna enjoyed sewing and making dresses and flower gardening.

Surviving is her husband of 64 years Derward Franke and a sister Dorothy (Wayne) Springer and a niece Cathy (William) Graney.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 5, 2017 at Emmaus Lutheran Church 8626 Covington Rd. Pastor Roy Olsen III will be officiating. Preferred memorials are to Emmaus Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. www.covingtonmemorial.com
