Loyed Dean Renfrow, 75, of Ft. Wayne, IN, died at home on February 11, 2024. Born July 31, 1948, in Fort Wayne, IN, he was a son of the late Odell and Barbara Renfrow. Loyed was a graduate of Leo High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Loyed married Kathy Tucker on September 6, 1975. He worked for Sheller Globe as a supervisor and retired from Fort Wayne Metals in 2009. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47. He enjoyed bird watching, wrestling, westerns, and casinos. He was an avid sports fanatic, but above all else, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Renfrow; children, Amy Polley and Stephanie (Chris) Sheaves; six grandchildren, Brooklyn (Nate) Petro, Lauryn (Isaac) Marsden, Autymn Polley, Jaclyn (Jaden Darnell) Polley, Dexter Sheaves and Aeris Sheaves; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Lynn (Helen) Renfrow, Allen Renfrow, David (Sue) Renfrow, Terry (Karen) Renfrow, Sandra Renfrow, Jannie Renfrow, Janice (Mike) Strachan, Margaret Amstutz, Julie (Rick) Schaffer. Loyed was also preceded in death by his son, Brian Renfrow; and sisters, Kathy Maldeney and Minnie Tucker. Funeral service 1:00pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation, Monday, February 19, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the grandchildren's college fund in care of the family.
