Lucy Ann Hood (nee Bartl) aged 82, passed away on November 6, 2024, in Fort Wayne, IN. Born on July 16, 1942 in Bellevue, OH, Lucy was a beloved figure within her extensive family.

Lucy retired after a commendable 35-year tenure at Lutheran Hospital. She had a dry sense of humor that would emerge at the most unexpected times. Her life was marked by a love of reading, solving jigsaw puzzles on her beloved iPad, and the art of coloring. Lucy enjoyed her weekly breakfasts at Joanne's with one or more of her children. She treasured her vacations in Florida with her husband,
Jim. Together, they created a cozy home filled with love and the company of their adopted cats.

Lucy is survived by her husband, Jim Hood; her children, Tonya Brown (Mark), Edward Ford, Tina Muzzillo (Mike), and Teresa Dunn (Ron); step-children, Doug Hood (Kim) and Ryan Hood; 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and five-siblings. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lucille and George Bartl, and her sister Ruth Ray.

Visitation will be held at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, IN on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A private family funeral will take place the following day.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Memory of Lucy may be made to Stillwater Hospice. Lucy's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as a testament to her loving spirit and generous heart.
