Lynn Ross Shultz, 83, of Fort Wayne was called to heaven Friday, September 10.  He was born September 29, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Vaughn and Mary Catherine (Antoine) Shultz.

Lynn loved the Lord and his country and proudly served in the Air National Guard for 37 years, retiring in 1992 as Senior Master Sergeant. Before going into the military, Lynn worked with West Unity Exchange, installing the first telephone systems in West Unity, Ohio.  He was also a Mason and a member of the NRA; for 10 years he was the president of his condominium village, Marina Del Sol, in Siesta Key, Florida.  Sadly, Lynn lost his only daughter, Libby, in the mid-1980s while she was away at college.  Lynn had many "coffee buddies" he would meet with regularly, first at Dunkin Donuts for many years, then they all moved to the Burger King.  He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.  Above all, Lynn was a man of God and a true patriot of this United States.  He loved his family fiercely and would do anything for them.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Lynn will be forever remembered by his wife of 19 years, Peggy (McAllister) Walters Shultz; stepsons, Rick (Tina) Walters, and Jeff (Amy) Walters; grandchildren, Cassandra (Patrick) McCormick, Josee Walters, and Zoee (Patrick) Brown; great grandchildren, Flynn, Mae and Romee; and many, many friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Mary Catherine; and daughter, Libby.

Family will receive friends from 10:00am - 12:00pm Friday, October 1 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804, with memorial service to begin at 12:00pm.  Military honors will begin at 1:00pm at Covington Memorial Cemetery.
