Marcella was feisty, opinionated, ornery, a real spitfire. You didn't mess with her....but if she liked you, It was all good...That was mama.....She was tiny in stature...Pretty... Always cared how she looked and dressed.

She loved her menagerie of dogs, cats, squirrels and birds. Add in a few guinea pigs and a few hamsters... She always joked that is anyone dug up the backyard...there might be an investigation because of all the little bones buried out there. She could tell you where each and every critter was laid to rest. She loved and mourned all of them.

She was an artist....She could really draw. She wanted to go to art school, but back in those days, her family could not afford to send her. Over the years she created the most beautiful garden. Flowers bloomed from spring to fall.

Mom and Dad together transformed a simple little house into a quiet cozy wonderful home while we were growing up. That places is jammed with great memories. She really like papa, they knew each other since she was 5 and he was 15. She decided early on that she would marry him. He was so handsome and kind. She was a pesky little kid that wanted him to give her a ride on his bike. Of course, he said, NO!! But when she turned 19... "she looked pretty good" (papas words) He went off to war.. She was so proud of him. They wrote sweet love letters to each other. In June of 1949...they married. Then papa was off to the Korean Conflict.....How hard that must have been.

Then along came the three of us over the years. And then came the grand kids. How they enjoyed them. There were conflicts along the way...Just like other families.... and there were good times too while growing up...We learned all the good stuff kids should learn...They didn't hand us much...We learned how to earn our way....and there was always love...It was hard watching them both fade away....Its sad to think about never seeing them again....No more hugs and kisses....No more laughing in the kitchen....No more holidays around the dining room table....But time passes....and that's what happens. They are supposed to leave first...The natural order....but it makes for a heavy heart for a long while... Just knowing they are together again makes it tolerable. Its been a good ride mama. We will see you again........
