Marcella M. (Kirkhoff) McCarthy, 100, died peacefully Fri. April 25, 2008 at Renaissance Village, where she had been a resident for eight years. She was born April 8, 1908 in Ft. Wayne to Louis and Elizabeth Kirkhoff. Marcella worked for General Electric as a Secretary during the 1920''s and 30''s. In her later years she worked in the Credit Department of Sears. She was a life long member of St. Peter''s Catholic Church. "She loved her family, traveling, playing cards and reading." Marcella is survived by her son Thomas (Gretchen) McCarthy of Lincoln, CA and daughter Ellen (Norman) Wall of Ft. Wayne; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas E.; daughter, Mary Ann; and two sisters, Helen Christen and Dorothy Hess. A graveside service will at 10:30a.m. Tuesday at Catholic Cemetery with Father Phillip Widmann officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Peter''s Catholic Church or Comfort Care Hospice Services.
