Margaret Ann (Disser) Heiny, a very beloved and energetic wife and mother, died Saturday Oct. 25, 2008 at Hospice Home. A native of Ft. Wayne for 85 years, Marge was a graduate from Central Catholic High School. She married a fellow classmate, Robert "Bob" Heiny in Nov. 1948 and later pursued her BA and MA degree in education at University of St. Francis. Marge was employed by the Catholic Diocese as a teacher at Sacred Heart and St. Henry''s. Upon retiring she tutored for several years with The Christ Child Society. Marge enjoyed tennis, golf, and playing cards with her family and friends. Marge had been a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic parish for 42 years and then was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish since 1995. Marge is survived by her husband Bob; daughters Ann Heiny Long, Linda (Dan) Gilliland of NM, and Mimi (Lynn) Partridge; grandchildren Maj. Robert (Sabrina) Long of Turkey, Megan (Louie) Bermes, Kimberly (Michael) Neff of IL; Sarah (Josh) Schecht of HI, Jaclyn (Tony) Osterhaus TX, Richard Gilliland of NM, and John Gilliland of Scotland; great grandchildren Payten and Braxton; brother Edward Disser of Clear Lake, IN; sisters Mary Ellen Russell of Indianapolis, IN, Sally Weigand, Josephine Barger of Notre Dame, IN, Nancy Hatton-Hollerbach of FL and Sue Libbing; in addition to 67 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Genevieve Welling and brother Robert Disser. Mass of Christian Resurrection will be 10:30am Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 10702 Aboite Center Rd with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be on Tues. from 2:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with a Vigil at 4:30pm. Entombment will be at Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Mary''s Soup Kitchen or to Christ Child Society.
