Marjorie Lenora Steinmetz, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Parkview Hospice after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 28, 1919 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Joseph and Vallie Fleming. She graduated high school and business school in Nashville, Tenn. She married Clarence S. Steinmetz, Sr. of Evansville, Indiana, in Nashville, Tenn. They had resided in Evansville, Indiana, Springfield, Ohio and Fort Wayne. She was a homemaker and had many hobbies; she enjoyed sewing, gardening and collecting antiques. She had a wonderful gift to be happy and enjoyed life to the fullest. She especially enjoyed being in the Settlers program.
She is survived by her children, Von Marie (David) Eklund of Hagerstown, Maryland, Ywell Willis Steinmetz of Fort Wayne, Manella Tedesco Williams (Geoff) of Syracuse, C. Samuel "Sam" (Zaya) Steinmetz of Beijing, China and James Robert (Kim) Kephart of Culver, Ind.; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in Jan. of 2001.
