Obituary

Martha P. Imel 88 passed away peacefully Sunday, May 30, 2010 in her home at Sycamore Village. Born June 7, 1921 in Zanesville, IN Martha is the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Fogwell. She worked for the Fort Wayne Community Schools for 25 years. Her enjoyments included golf, weekly bingo games, playing euchre, watching tennis and entertaining family and friends. She played the piano for her church when she was young and entertained family and friends on many occasions. After retirement, she enjoyed spending warm winters at their second home in Bradenton, Florida. Along with family and friends, she is going to be missed by the loving and caring staff at Sycamore Village. Surviving are sons, Robert (Joan) and Randy Imel, both of Ft. Wayne, Rick Imel, Roanoke, daughters, Sharon (Dave) Melton- Hall, Ft. Wayne, Cheri (Chris) Cote, Morrison, CO, grandsons, Rick, Rod and Scott Melton, Chad and Ryan Imel, Conor and Kyle Cote, grandaughters, Jodie Winn, Hannah and Taylor Imel, great-grandchildren, Ridge and Ryder Imel, Madison and Cameron Winn, twin sister, Mary Helmke, sister, Jean Hively, brothers, Merritt Fogwell and Carroll Fogwell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Gerald F."Gib" Imel March 16, 2009. Services are 11 a.m. Friday June 4, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling Thursday 2-4 6-8 at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Preferred Memorial to the Heartland Hospice.
