Mary Louise Grepke, 72, died, Monday April 11, 2016. Born in Arcola, she was the daughter to the late Joe Carroll and Wilma (her late step father, George) Carroll-Zeimmer. Mary was a member of Abundant Life Church; she was active with the deaf ministries at the church and also tutored the Burmese.
Mary was a Special Education Teacher for the Norwell Community Schools. Even in her retirement she never stopped teaching, she taught art, cooking, sewing, and she helped with reading. Her passion was teaching and helping others. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, we will miss you.
She is survived by her sons, Hans (Lin), Heath (Michelle) and Dean Grepke; step son, Dan Pahl; step daughters, Donna (Jeff) Rellinger, Julie Cripps and Cheri Pahl; two sisters, Norma Closson and Janice (Bob) Bell; 14 grandchildren, Jade (Clayton Hill) Grepke, Kassie Grepke, Lexi Grepke, Ariana Simmons, Kierstyn (Zachary Painter) Grepke, Kristopher Grepke, Allison (Andy) Rellinger Millett, Erin (Trent) Rellinger Hoffman, Shannon (Brian) Wilson, Shelly (Josh) Cripps, Chelsea (Zach) Rodak, Tim Pahl, Nikki (J.J.) Arnold and Andrew Hoskins; and 10 great grandchildren, Chase, Hudson, Wyatt, Kolton, Makayla, Stephen, Riley, Dane, Kinsley and Kyleia; brother in law, Jerry Schorey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 30 years, Thomas Grepke, in 1994; son, Joseph Grepke; and a sister, Lorraine Schorey; brother in law, Terry Closson.
Funeral service is 11 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Abundant Life Church, 3301 E. Coliseum Blvd, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2016 at the church. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the church or March of Dimes.
