Mrs. Mary Lucille Cole, age 93, of Hoagland Indiana passed away Saturday afternoon, May 24, 2025, at home with family by her side. She was born October 27, 1931, in Buffton, Indiana, the youngest of eight children of Henry and Nellie Gilliom.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Samuel Cole. She is survived by her three children, Kathy Cole, David (Kim) Cole and Patricia (Jason Miles) Klaiss. She cherished her five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jon) Habeshy, Sara (Logan) Baker, Ryan (Kristen) Akers, Scott Klaiss and Stephen (Morgen Krontz) Klaiss. Mary loved spending time with her six great grandchildren, Danielle, Lilly, Elizabeth, Julian, Miles, Dylan and Adriana.

Mary moved to Fort Wayne and began a career at General Electric in 1953 where she worked for 40 years and in 1973 became one of the first female supervisors in the Fort Wayne GE operations. During summers she looked forward to annual vacations in Florida. Some of her favorite things were grilling in the backyard on the weekends, playing euchre, trips to Zestos for tin roof sundaes, watching old musicals and listening to big band music of the 30's and 40's (her brother Lloyd played for the Sammy Kaye Orchestra). In 2007 she got to fly in a plane for the first time when she made a special trip to Hawaii. In her final years, she looked forward to Friday night dinner followed by Friday night church at Central Ministries.

Visitation for Mary will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Friday, May 30, 2025, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. A graveside service will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens immediately following the visitation.
