Mary "Eleanor" Fritze, 98, passed Thursday, July 25, 2019.  She was born in Defiance, Ohio to the late Floyd Fritze and Lena (Sprow) Fritze. She graduated from Mark Center High School.  Eleanor retired from Mutual Securities after many years of service.  She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church.

She is survived by son and daughter in law, Ronald and Twylia Fritze of Alabama.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Harold A. Fritze, in 1986; and sisters, Evelyn Bissell and Ercel Maitland.

Private services were held.  She was entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers memorials are to Harold & Eleanor Fritze Scholarship at Lamar University, History Department, 4400 South Martin Luther King, Beaumont, Texas 77705.
